Official Petition Repeal Section 230 Sponsored by the Media Research Center
To: My U.S. Senators
WHEREAS, Big Tech companies — like Twitter, Facebook, Google, and YouTube — actively worked to undermine the integrity of the 2020 Presidential Election by censoring and suppressing important information related to the election, and
WHEREAS, social media posts by President Donald Trump were censored hundreds of times while Joe Biden’s posts weren’t censored even once, and,
WHEREAS, overwhelming evidence has been produced proving Big Tech routinely violates the First Amendment rights of Americans by censoring, silencing, and suppressing conservative speech online, and,
WHEREAS, public opinion data obtained since the election undeniably proves Big Tech’s election manipulation had an impact on the presidential election, and,
WHEREAS, failure to hold Big Tech accountable for its efforts to manipulate the 2020 election would, in effect, mean the end of free and fair elections in America and around the world, and,
WHEREAS, Section 230 of the Communications Decency act renders Big Tech companies immune from legal challenges when they allow false, manipulative, and harmful content to propagate on their platforms, and, WHEREAS, you, as my representatives in the United States Senate have a duty to act to protect the integrity of America’s electoral system,
THEREFORE, I do hereby demand you act immediately repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act to ensure Big Tech is never again free to get away with stealing an American election.
